ICCIC Auditorium, Via Augusta, 205
The trumpeter Ricard Gili, manager of La Locomotora Negra, and the clarinetist Oriol Romaní, two of the most recognized jazz musicians in Spain, have long shared concerts and jam sessions with groups such as the Jimmy Rena Trio, La Locomotora Negra, the New Orleans Blue Stompers and the Barcelona Swing Serenaders.
In jazz language, cats are fellows and hot jazz is what gets young and old alike dancing and touches everyone’s heart.
It is in this spirit that the Gili-Romaní Hot Jazz Cats are offering a classic jazz evening after performing at many different concerts as a quartet since 2007 with the hope that everyone will have as much fun as them.
Their repertoire includes blues, spiritual and typical jazz pieces from the twenties, thirties and forties from New Orleans, Chicago and New York reinvented in the quartet’s style and even a song or two of their own.
Members:
Ricard Gili, trumpet and vox
Oriol Romaní, clarinet
Federico Mazzanti, piano
