Mission
We are a private foundation with 75 years of history aiming to promote cultural exchange between Catalonia and the United States of America through both cultural and academic initiatives in collaboration with organizations on both sides of the Atlantic.
Vision
✓ We endeavor to play a fundamental part in research and the dissemination of culture, history and politics of the United States of America.
✓ We seek to bring together people and institutions involved in or interested in becoming involved in the diffusion of American culture within the IEN.
✓ We aim to become a benchmark for American culture and politics in Europe, establishing the IEN as a key space for reflection and debate.

The Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is a collegiate body made up of individuals or legal entities, with a minimum of four and a maximum of twenty-six members, who must have strong ties to the United States of America and be prominent in academic, cultural or economic spheres. They adopt their agreements by majority vote in accordance with the terms laid out in the statutes of the Institute of North American Studies Foundation.

Executive Committee
Supervises the operation and activities of the Foundation and ensures compliance
with its foundational purposes and the diligent administration of its means and resources.
The Consulate General of the United States in Barcelona, personally or through the Cultural Attaché, will always be an ex officio member with a voice but no vote. The director of the Foundation will possess the same rights and limitations.
